Come and See: A Monastic Vocation Retreat

Assumption Abbey
Come and See
A Monastic Vocation Retreat
Aug 30 - Sept 3, 2012

The WalkAssumption Abbey is planning a Monastic Vocation Retreat for men who are interested in exploring the call to monastic life. The retreat will be held A Monastic Vocation Retreat Aug 30 - Sept 3, 2012, here at our Abbey.

Participants will be invited to join us inside our monastic enclosure to experience our life by living with us for a few days. They will eat their meals in the monastic refectory and join us in choir for the Liturgy of the Hours. In addition to listening to presentations by the Brothers on aspects of our monastic life, participants will also be able to meet with us privately for personal conversation. There will also be opportunities to meet three members of the community and hear them share their experiences discerning their own monastic vocations.

Because of space limitations, we will limit the retreatants to five men so that they have the advantage both of group interaction and of individual attention.

If you are interested in or have been discerning a call to religious life and would like to be a part of this special retreat, you can print a registration form by clicking here. For more information or if you would like to ask any questions, please e-mail our Vocations Director, or call him at the Abbey at 417.683.5110.

Please note that Springfield, Missouri, is the bus and plane terminal. There is no public transportation from Springfield to Ava. We will send you brochures upon application. The map on the back of our brochure and elsewhere on this site shows you the way to our monastery.
